Since 2009, the parish has intensively explored new ways of sharing its Good News.
In the area of children’s ministry, it adopted the Godly Play series. We have found it to be a blessing for the children of the parish, allowing them to have their own rich experience of God.
Beyond that, we are establishing new partnerships in the community through our adoption of the entire green space around us as a part of the City of Mount Pearl’s Adopt-a-Park program. We have committed ourselves to protect and care for the land around us in an environmentally sensitive manner.
We have also worked with the Grand Concourse Authority and the provincial Government to create a park setting around us, the centerpiece of which is a distinctive labyrinth, the only one of its kind in our province, as a centre of tranquility and reflection. A new walking trail – Shepherd’s Walk – runs through this space.
In addition, we have launched new ministry initiatives including our popular Wednesday “Free Lunch” for the community.
We also have a Community Garden at the rear of our building. Ground-level and raised garden beds are available to neighbourhood individuals and families. Check Weekly Bulletin for updates or contact the Church Office.
